Every step is sacred.
Before the brand, before the product — there was the nemeton. A Celtic sacred grove. An open-air gathering place, marked by standing stones, centred near a spring. Set apart not because anyone declared it holy, but because people understood that some places deserve to be a sacred space in our world.
That understanding lives in the Peak District, if you know where to look. In the stone circle of the Nine Ladies on Stanton Moor. In the gritstone edges above the Derwent Valley. In the cold rivers running through the valleys, the caves beneath Castleton, the moorland roads that unspool toward Tideswell and beyond. Places that reset something. Places worth protecting.
NEMETONA ACTIVE was built from those places; from the belief that the hours spent moving through them are the ones that genuinely count.
OUR STORY
I walked away from a six-figure business I'd built outdoors and headed for a new direction. I found myself drifting slowly away from the very things that mattered most, that made it all worthwhile. The hills, the woods, the mountains. The quiet clarity that only comes from being somewhere wild and earning it with your own effort.
NEMETONA is how I'm getting it back. Building something for everyone who feels the same. A British multi-sport brand made in Derby, on the edge of one of the finest landscapes in England. Named after Nemetona, Celtic goddess of sacred groves. Marked by the Trilithon N - three standing stones forming the letter. Solid. Grounded. Sacred.
We make climbing chalk, woven trousers and technical activewear for the people who move through the world with purpose, who climb, run, hike & train, not because it's on trend but because it's who they are. The compound athlete. The one who doesn't fit a single category and never wanted to.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Honesty - Every material decision is made honestly and documented. No greenwashing, no fossil-fuel stretch hiding behind a sustainability claim. If we can't prove it in writing, we don't say it.
Durability - Everything passes the Fence Nail Standard, it survives gritstone, brambles and a wet hillside, and still looks right after. Built for years, not a season.
Responsibility - The spaces we move through are sacred. What we leave behind, on the rock, in the soil, in the water — matters. We design and source with that in mind, always.

We built NEMETONA for those people and the spaces they inhabit. To make kit that's worthy of both; honest in its materials, considered in its making, and as light on the landscape as we can possibly manage.
